The establishment of an International Committee on Terminology and Data Requirements on Bulbous Species is proposed.
Specific areas of terminology should include:

- terms related to many or all bulbous species,
- terms applicable to the type of plant material utilized,
- terminology for commercial utilization of bulbous species,
- physical facilities used for bulb species,
- physiological disorders and
- diseases and insects.
Minimum data requirements are needed for research on all bulbous species.
