Abstract
A stock of "Apeldoorn" with a moderate production of daughter bulbs was used to investigate the effect on the production of saleable bulbs of the choice of planting material using Hekstra’s scheme 1 and the sinking-floating method.

Better results were obtained with the sinking-floating method than with the planting material selection method according to scheme 1 of Hekstra.
