Abstract
Forcing of tulips and narcissi on bulb farms in the Netherlands is increasing and higher costs have made rationalization of forcing an urgent need.
Data are presented for production and prices and on labour requirements for the various procedures that make up forcing.
Improvements are suggested which will reduce the number of hours required for picking, packing and planting.
