Abstract
The interconversion : starch infty sucrose infty fructosyl sucroses in bulbs of "Apeldoorn" was dependent on the storage temperature.
The content of starch decreased with a corresponding increase of sucrose and fructosyl sucrose at 5°C. At 21°C the starch content increased slightly.
Injected 14C-U-sucrose in the scales of bulbs was also converted faster to starch at this temperature.
The conversion of 14C-U-sucrose to fructosul sucrose by transfructosylation was enhanced by cold storage.
