Abstract
Rootstock trial with some new clonal rootstocks of the plum was found in the spring 1992. Rootstocks were tested with cvs. ´Stanley´ and ´Cacanska najbolja´. The following rootstocks were assessed: ´Myrobalan SE 4041´, ´Myrobalan SE 4043´, ´Myrobalan SE 4044´ (all Prunus cerasifera), ´MY-KL-A´ (P. cerasifera x P. cerasifera var. akropurpurea), ´Marunke SE 4034´ (´Ackerman´), ´Povazska okruhlicka´ (P. insititia), ´JA´ (´St.
Julian A´), ´GF 655/2´, ´GF 1869´, ´GF 1380´, ´GF 43´, ´Damascena SE 4045´, ´Pixy´ and the seedling of Myrobalan.
With ´Stanley´ in the 7th leaf the trees were most vigorous on rootstocks ´GF 43´, ´MY-KL-A´ and ´Myr.
SE 4044´. The weakest growth was on trees grafted on ´Pixy´, ´GF 655/2´ and ´Dam.
SE 4045´. With ´Cacanska najbolja´ the growth was strongest on ´GF 43´, the seedling of Myrobalan and ´Myr.
SE 4043´. The smallest trees were on ´Pixy´ and also on clones of ´Marunke SE 4034´ and ´GF 655/2´. The total accumulated yield per tree from 1992 to 1998 was the highest with ´Stanley´ on the rootstocks ´JA´ and ´Myr.
SE 4041´. The cultivar ´Cacanska najbolja´ was most productive on ´GF 1869´ and ´Povazska okruhlicka´. The yield efficiency of ´Stanley´ was highest on ´GF 655/2´, ´JA´, ´Myr.
SE 4041´ and lowest on ´GF 1380´, ´Myr.
SE 4044´ and the seedling of Myrobalan.
The yield efficiency of ´Cacanska najbolja´ was highest on ´Povazska okruhlicka´, ´GF 1869´ and ´GF 655/2´, whereas the parameter was the lowest on the seedling of Myrobalan, ´GF 43´ and ´GF 1380´. The production of suckers was most prolific with both varieties on the rootstocks ´GF 1869´, ´Marunke SE 4034´, and ´GF 655/2´. On the hitherto experience the best rootstocks for ´Stanley´ are ´JA´ and ´Myr.
