Effects of extreme high temperature environment on photosynthetic characteristics of Junzao and Fucuimi

Abstract
The global climate system has been become increasingly unstable, and the frequency of extreme high temperature weather obviously increased, which had a serious impact on the growth and development of jujube trees.
In this study, two different cultivars of high temperature tolerance Junzao and Fucuimi were used as test materials.
High temperature stress was simulated through the artificial greenhouse.
The continuous diurnal variation trend of leaf photosynthetic parameters was measured by Li-6400 photosynthetic instrument under continuous high temperature stress of day/night temperature was 42/30°C. The results showed that continuous high temperature treatment had significant effect on Pn, Ci, Tr and Ls of the two jujube cultivars.
It had significant effect on Gs and WUE of Junzao, but no significant effect on Fucuimi. High temperature caused the WUE of jujube leaves to decrease, stomata to close, and CO2 entered cells to decrease, which could not meet the requirements of photosynthesis.
Eventually, the photosynthetic rate dropped.
Under the stress of continuous high temperature environment, Fucuimi had stronger photosynthetic capacity than Junzao. Fucuimi had stronger resistance to high temperature and could adapt to high temperature environment.
