APPLICATION OF PHEROMONES IN APRICOT PEST CONTROL
The effectivity of spraying against the larvae of first summer generation is the most important factor for successful control of peach twig borer on apricot.
The signalization of beginning and summit of first flying period by sex pheromone traps is very important for this effectivity.
In the case of cherry-bark tortrix 3 insecticide applications, performed in optimal time also the basis of signalization by sex pheromone traps, reduced the damage caused by this pest by 42.2%.
Mass trapping with pheromone preparations may be successful for integrated control of cherry-bark tortrix in isolated apricot orchards. 23 sex pheromone traps/ha, with pyrethroid inside of them, reduced the damage considerably.
There is a possibility for simultaneous cherry-bark trotrix and peach twig borer trapping by traps baited with a mixture of proper sex pheromones of these two months.
