Abstract
12 Hungarian apricot varieties and selections as well as one American have been tested in a plot trial at Helvécia.
The productivity of Ceglédi óriás was the best in the group of mid-season varieties, but considering the ratio of died trees (apricot die-back), NJAl had the highest yield per hectare.
Mandulakjszi was the most productive in the group of semi-late varieties, though it yielded less than the cultivars of mid-season ripening.
Budapest had the highest yield out of the late-ripening varieties.
We analysed factors determining the yields, such as bloom density, the number of fruits per hectare, estimated fructification index and yield efficiency per tree as well as coefficients of variation of annual relative bloom density and annual average yields.
Ceglédi óriás, NJA1, Mandulakajszi and Budapest seem capable of producing large fruits despite their high yields.
