Abstract
A graft-transmissible disease of Apricot cv "Bulida" was first noticed in Campania region in 1985. The diseased trees do not show any foliage symptoms whereas, at pit-hardening stage, undefined, brown-reddish rings begin to develop on the fruits.
Later on the rings show necrotic borders and centers.
Necrotic, irregular areas may develop inside the flesh.
The isolation of mechanically transmissible viruses was erratic.
In 1988 and 1989 Apricot trees of other cultivars showing roundish, black spots or/and superficial black scurf were found in Caserta and Naples provinces.
Preliminar results obtained in graft transmissibility of these symptoms show that at least some of them are transmissible.
