Abstract
Ten determinate F1 tomato hybrids (Elviro, Florenta, Luxor, Merav, Solido, Guay, T-9301, Rebelde, Santiago and Champion) were grown at the open air without ataking and pruning, and compared for yield and fruit characteistics adequate for fresh market in Navarra region (northern Spain). Merav, T-9301, Santiago and Rebelde were long shelf life hybrids and the rest were traditional type.
The most production were Guay, Florenta, Elviro, Loxur, and Santiago.
The hybrids with higher fruit sizes, more adequate for the nearby markets, were T-9.01, Guay, Santiago, Rebelde, and Elviro.
Only Merav and T-9301 kept long shelf life.
Although most of the fruits from the hybrids were normal, some of these hybrids had a type of fruit with shape or colour not completely adequate for commercial purposes in the area.
