Abstract
Repetitive species-specific probes were isolated from two Chilean species A. aurea and A. ligtu spp. ligtu and from two Brazilian species A. psittacina and A. inodora. The probes from A. aurea and A. ligtu spp. ligtu were highly species-specific, while those from A. psittacina and A. inodora were Brazilian species-specific.
The aurea probes were tested for use in hybrid detection.
All complex hybrids with one, two or three genomes of A. aurea gave a strong hybridization signal in the Southern blot.
