Abstract
The many species of the genus Prunus including apricots, peaches, almonds and plums constitute one of the most important woody fruit groups growing in temperate regions.
Unfortunately, they are threatened by many diseases and particularly viral diseases, such as Sharka, which are difficult to eradicate.
The aim of the present work is to answer this question: could cryopreservation of shoot tips be a means of eliminating Plum Pox Potyvirus (PPV) from Sharka diseased Prunus plantlets ?
