Abstract
Ovary donor plants were grown under greenhouse conditions.
Mother plants were used during 3 weeks after the first female flower appeared.
Unfertilized ovaries were harvested after reaching the length 2–3 cm in zucchini and 0,5 – 1 cm in cucumber.
Peeled and sliced ovaries were cultured in Petri dishes.
Culture on initiation medium supplemented with 0,02 mg/1 TDS, followed by embryo induction medium containing NAA and BA in various concentrations, resulted in embryo formation from the ovule both of zucchini and cucumber lines.
