Abstract
In 1993–1996 nearly 100 plum cultivars were evaluated in the field collection located in at Experimental Station (Central part of Poland). The harvest time, average fruit weight and length, width, thickness of fruits as well as fruit shape, skin and flesh color, stone adhesion were investigation.
This paper contains the characteristics of 13 promising plum cvs., which could be suitable for the commercial production in Poland.
These were: ‘Cacanska Rana’, ‘Cacanska Lepotica’, ‘Dabrowice Prune’, ‘Cacanska Najbolja’, ‘Cacanska Rodna’, ‘Amers’ (Hybrid no. 589007), ‘Valor’, ‘Bluefre’, ‘Valjevka’, ‘Empress’ and ‘Oneida’. ‘Ruth Gerstetter’ and ‘Stanley’ cvs. were used as the controls.
