Abstract
The selection of Common Prune was based on thirty four trees originating from different regions of Poland.
In 1980 preliminary screening was made considering the following features: health status, yielding, time of fruit ripening, fruit weight, soluble solids content, stone adherence.
On the base of this test seven most valuable trees were selected: ‘P. I-26’, ‘PO. I-3’, ‘PO. V-3’, ‘PO. VI-3’, ‘PO. XIII-1’, ‘PO. XV-1’, ‘D. XIII-15’. Then, they were propagated and subjected to scientific examination in respect to their economical value.
