SOME TYLENCHIDS ASSOCIATED WITH PISTACHIO AND ALMOND TREES IN IRAN

Abstract
In order to identify the pistachio and almond plant parasitic nematodes belonging to the order Tylenchida, 80 soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of both crops in several regions of Iran during 2000-2004 years.
Nematodes were extracted by the centrifugal-flotation method, killed, and fixed by hot FGA 4:1:1 (formaldehyde, glycerin, and acetic acid), processed to anhydrous glycerin by the modified Seinhorst method (De Grisse, 1969). Nematodes were mounted on slides, studied, and characterized through light microscope.
In this survey, 26 known species belonging to 13 genera of the order Tylenchida were identified.
