Abstract
Apricot is a native plant of Hungary.
The problems of cultivation mostly arise from the fact that Hungary is situated on the northern border of the zone where the species can be grown, therefore the yields are low and the amount of fruit shows a wide fluctuation from year to year.
The problems of cultivation mostly arise from the fact that Hungary is situated on the northern border of the zone where the species can be grown, therefore the yields are low and the amount of fruit shows a wide fluctuation from year to year.
Some characteristics of flowering and fruit set biology of the species and the individual varieties are less known, though everything that had been known about the subject was worked up by Maliga (1966), Brózik-Nyéki (1975), Nyujtó (1978) and Brozik jr. (1979).
