Abstract
The province of Vojvodina is in the north-east part of Yugoslavia.
North it borders on Hungary.
Apricot cultivar is most spread in Subotica-Horgos area, which yields over 30% of the total apricot cultivar production in Yugoslavia.
However, beside “apoplexy” the main problem in obtaining higher yield in Vojvodina are low temperatures by which the generative organs are damaged (flower buds during resting period or spring frosts by which the flower parts and embryos are damaged moreover young fruits too.
In the last twenty years in Vojvodina the low temperatures from –20°C and even lower, which damaged flower buds, occured 6–8 times, however, the spring frosts even 10–12 times.
This problem has interfered with the plant production of apricot cultivar and the economic purpose of growing although the market demand of apricot is great and the price high.
