Abstract
The total or partial injury of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) flower buds by late spring frost, or by fluctuating temperatures in late winter, as well as by cool and wet weather at blossoming time is very well known.
With regard to this phenomenon the fruit breeding programme of the Fruit Research Institute at Cacak includes, among others, the study of apricot blooming character within the single genotypes and in their combinations as parents.

The aim of this study is to find out the best parent combinations to obtain more hardy, late blooming selections with slower rates of flower bud development during the late winter and early spring, especially just before and during blooming time.
This paper represents the continuation of our previous work (Paunovic and Misic, 1975; Paunovic and Plazinic, 1976, 1977, 1981 ; Plazinic, 1978).
