Abstract
Field studies on floricultural glasshouse-production have been carried out in the area of Lower Saxony in order to find explanations for the differences in the success of crop management and to support the development and implementation of planning and control-systems.

For this purpose a concept for recording and evaluation data under farm conditions has been developed.
Data on growth factors, production methods and their costs, the plant growth and quality and the financial returns have been collected by means of measurement and observations.

The result of this explorative study are presented in this paper as well as some considerations about the needs that have to be met by planning and control-methods.
