Abstract
A study was concluded in 1982–1984 at 46 private apiaries in southern Poland.
The aim of the survey was to analyse the basic rules in the formation of labour productivity in apiaries with respect to the increasing rate of intensification of production.
The relations between the indexes of production organization and labour productivity were investigated using the coefficients of correlation and multiple correlation.
The method of rectilinear multiple regression was also used.
A close dependence was found between labour productivity and the index of organization of production.
An increase in labour productivity occurred when the value of production rose, the production was more diversified, or when the apiaries were divided into smaller independent units.
With the increasing size of apiaries a decrease in labour productivity was noted.
In the apiaries with traditional production an increase in the costs of production caused an increase in labour productivity while in apiaries with intensive production higher labour productivity was obtained when the consumption of labour rose.
