Abstract
A bio-economic simulation model and numerical optimization methods are linked in order to find optimal temperature strategies for greenhouse vegetable crops.
Therefore, the simulation model takes into account the biological and engineering aspects of the production as well as the economic consequences.
The paper presents the theoretical concept, the structure of the simulation model, basic strategies of different numerical search methods as well as some practical results and experiences from using numerical optimization methods.
