Abstract
The rosettes from proliferating cultures of sour cherry cvs.
Schattenmorelle, North Star, Kelleris and Nefris were cultivated on MS medium, supplemented with one of 8 cytokinins: BA, zeatin, kinetin, 2iP or their ribosides at four different concentrations.
New shoots appeared mainly on the medium with BA or, to a lesser degree, with BA-riboside.
The most efficient concentration of BA for new shoot formation was 1.5 mg/l or 2.0 mg/l, depending on cultivar.
Dry matter content in cultured tissue decreased with increasing BA concentrations.
Activity of "salt-extracted" invertase sharply increased with the concentrations of BA and was very low for other cytokinins.
