Abstract
Somatic embryoids of grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) were obtained from callus cultures with a frequency which varied from 0 to 27%. GA3 (0.8 mg/l) and BA (0.1 mg/l) enhanced the germination of these embryoids, and more than 30 plantlets were successfully transferred into soil.
Observations on leaf morphology and isozyme patterns suggested that the regenerant plants were genetically uniform and that the technique could be used for asexual propagation.
