Abstract
Foliar sprays and soil applications of paclobutrazol to peach cv. ‘San Pedro’ grown as a meadow orchard under protected cultivation reduced vegetative growth and induced earlier leaf fall, flowering and ripening.
These effects persisted for two to three years, depending on the dose.
Yield was enhanced and fruits were larger.
Best results were obtained with 2 000 ppm foliar spray, but soil application at 1–2 kg/ha also had favourable effects.
