Abstract
The supermale, NJ22-8, showed excellent general and specific combining ability.
Six of the 10 highest yielding hybrids in the trial used this male parent.
The combining ability of the female parents was more variable, however, 6 of the 8 females in the trial were acceptable.
After 8 years of harvest the leading hybrids in the trial are still increasing in annual yield.
