Abstract
Among the material used in the French (INRA) asparagus breeding programme, a great variability for field decline tolerance is observed.
This tolerance seems to be mainly bound to the vegetative vigor of the genotype.

A new early screening test for tolerance to Fusarium disease is initiated.
This method uses a naturally infested soil and takes into account the importance of lesions on the root system.
