Abstract
Chemicals most frequently reported for promotion of leaf abscission of fruit nursery stock are given.
The most successful chemicals in tests in Washington State have been potassium iodide, Bromodine, ethephon, Dupon-Wk surfactant, ethephon + Bromodine, ethephon + Dupont-WK surfactant, and abscisic acid.
Conditions which influence the response to defoliants and some physiological effects of defoliants are discussed.
