Abstract
TIBA (300 and 400 ppm) and MH (500 and 750 ppm) applied to panicles of the vinifera grape ‘Anab-e-Shahi’ within 1–12 days of their emergence were effective in inducing some degree of male sterility.
The effectiveness of the sprays increased with concentration and repeat applications were much more effective than single sprays.
The treatments also reduced ovule fertility and fruit set, but these effects could be partially overcome by the application of GA3 which increased fruit set and led to the development of seedless berries of high sugar content.
