Abstract
A mixture of CEPA and 2,4,5-TP applied at 2250 l/ha 10 days before picking greatly improved the appearance and eating quality of ‘Worcester Pearmain’, and advanced harvest by up to 3 weeks.
Reducing the spray volume to 225 l/ha without changing the concentration produced equally good results, as did also sprays of 22. 5 l/h at 10x concentration.
SADH at 2000 ppm applied in early June followed by CEPA 10 days before harvest was even more effective in promoting colour and retarding fruit drop, but was less effective in advancing maturity and gave slightly smaller fruits.
