Abstract
Bananas are grown commercially in Ghana and the semi-dwarf cultivars should be considered.
Susceptibility to leaf streak and incidence of rotted stems on the hand can be controlled with proper treatment.

Of the 3 cultivars introduced, Homtong proved an excellent commercial banana; however, it was outyielded by Valery and Williams.
