Abstract
Serendipity berry (Dioscoreophyllum cumminsii Diels) is an indigenous West African plant, the fruits of which are important as sweeteners.
Experiments at the Plant Introduction and Exploration Section of the Crops Research Institute at Bunso showed that seeds are capable of germinating when treated with GA3 and tubers break dormancy in 16–20 days.
Shade seems to be a critical factor in the cultivation of the Serendipity berry.
