Abstract
Chinese jujube, Jinchang No.1 is a new bud-mutation cultivar found in Taigu, Shanxi province in 1999. The paper reports the effects of some key factors including temperature, light intensity, medium components and time of transplantation on proliferation, rooting and survival rate and performance of growth and bearing in the field of Chinese jujube Jinchang No.1. The shoot tips in vitro were put in proliferation medium (MS+6-BA 2.0 mg/L+IBA 0.5 mg/L) with high temperature and high light intensity, resulting in proliferating rate of 3.5. A 95.19% shoots were rooted in the rooting medium (½ MS+IAA 2.4 mg/L) after 20 days.
The survival rate of rooted plantlets transplanted in the greenhouse was more than 85% between June and August.
The plantlets were strong, and grew up to 30 cm in the current year, 1.1 m in the second year.
The tree produced 3-4 vegetative shoots, started fruiting in the third year, and fruited 2.1 kg in the fourth year.
