Abstract
In order to reduce the damage of jujube fruit cracking to jujube production, the ‘Yueguang’ jujube was used as the test material to compare the changes of enzyme activities and substance contents in the pericarp of jujube fruit cracking treated by spraying CaCl2 (without spraying calcium fertilizer was used as the control), and to study the reasons for reducing fruit cracking.
The results showed that spraying CaCl2 at the growth stage could reduce the fruit cracking rate.
The enzyme activities (SOD, CAT, POD and PPO) of the pericarp of the treatment and the control had similar change trends during fruit cracking.
Still, the contents of protopectin, water-soluble pectin, soluble sugar, and soluble protein showed opposite change trends.
Spraying CaCl2 at the growth stage could increase SOD activity and CAT activity of jujube pericarp during fruit cracking, also increased the content of original pectin and decreased the content of water-soluble pectin.
Meanwhile, it could promote the accumulation of soluble sugar and soluble protein content.
