SITE PRECONDITIONS FOR DOUBLE USE WALNUT TREE GROWING

In the latest decades the growing of walnut trees /Juglans regia/ has fallen back in Hungary, therefore the idea has arisen, that a double use way of walnut growing should be introduced serving both the fruit and veneer log production.
The first step to attain this aim is to determine the site requirements of the walnut trees by surveying the site conditions of its natural range as well as by site investigations on the spot of existing walnut plantations.
