Abstract
The aim of our study was to describe the pomological characters of some apricots in Japan, as well as some Interspecific hybrids (ISH), because of the insufficient information in the literature about the Far-East apricots.
The investigations were carried out in the region of Tsukuba, Kanto, Japan in 1995. A total number of 65 varieties was assessed.
In this paper, data are presented for 22 Ansu cultivars; 16 Mume cultivars, including 5 “Koume”, 6 “Ume” and 5 “Bungo” apricots; 12 ISH. All the samples were estimated by 23 fruit characteristics: size, shape, colouring, flavour, cavity, suture, etc.
