Abstract
The root systems of some trees of Prunus domestica (BB1) and Prunus cerasifera (Myrobalan) grafted to Rakovsky and Krupna rana apricots, of fifteen years old were explored by the Trench profile method.

The rootstock BB1 with weaker root sucker production has a smaller number of roots at the investigated profile, less roots with a thinner diameter (1 mm, 1–3 mm, 3–5 mm) and a larger number of thicker roots (more then 10 mm diameter) wich were spread in the surface layer to 30 cm in-depth.
The rootstock with a smaller number of thinner fibrous roots and a larger number of thicker roots in the surface layer of 30 cm in-depth develops less suckers.
The highest positive correlation of rootstock BBl was found at roots with 20 – 30 mm diameter and of rootstock Myrobalan at roots with 10 – 15 mm diameter.
