Abstract
As a result of strawberry pollination with Potentilla and strawberry anther culturs work, tetrahaploids and other ploidy plants were obtained.
Due to partial fertility of haploids progeny were induced with the use of different pollination methods.
The populations obtained were tested for several traits.
Yield results were only recorded for the selected, sufficiently numerous /minimum 5 plants/, progeny individuals.
The factors taken into concideration were: number of individuals, average yield, its range and variance for each particular combination.
The productivity of tetrahaploid progeny depends to a great extent on the starting variety.
The progenies obtained after selfing usually yielded lower than those developed from open pollination.
Among the progenies of ‘Redgauntlet’ tetrahaploids there were several with an increased average yield in relation to ‘Redgauntlet’ progeny obtained after selfing.
The crosses of tetrahaploids derived from ‘Sonja’ and ‘Freja’ female varieties offered a possibility of obtaining relatively high yields per plant.
The best individuals of their offspring can be used for further breeding.
