Abstract
Pinto peanuts (Arachis pintoi Krap & Greg.) are primarily used as legume cover crops and propagated vegetatively.
It is important to determine types of placemats for pinto peanut planting to produce pols that grow fast but are easy to harvest and have minimum stresses upon transplanting.
The research aimed to study several types of placemats to optimize growth and effectiveness of harvesting pinto peanut pols.
The study used a single-factor randomized complete block design with types of placemats as treatment, consisting of without placemats (P1), peles cloth (P2), 1×1 cm polyester-based net (P3), and seedling tray (P4). The results showed that 1×1 cm polyester-based net and seedling trays as placemat resulted in the most effective pols harvesting based on the percentage of soil surface coverage, plant growth, weight at harvest, and time required for harvest.
