Abstract
Losses of Narcissus bulbs caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. narcissi are widespread and often severe.
Most large trumpet cultivars of use in commerce are susceptible and this susceptibility has been associated with the parentage, however distant, of cv.
Mme de Graaff.
This cultivar itself was derived from three species in a short pedigree.
Contrasting with this susceptibility is the well recorded resistance of N. tazetta hybrids.
There are many species of Narcissus but not all are readily available.
In this paper the results of soil infestation and the subsequent, if any, effects of infection on thirteen species grown in it will be discussed.
The thirteen species could be separated into three distinct groups, resistant, partially resistant, and susceptible.
