Abstract
Begonia, Impatiens, Petunia and Salvia were direct seeded into two sizes of modules (10 and 15 mm diameter). Liquid feed at the three rates of nitrogen (100, 200 and 300 mg N/litre) and two of potash (100 and 200 mg K2O/litre) were applied at every watering after emergence.
Transplanting from the modules was made at weekly intervals for four weeks into 70 mm pots.
Transplanting from the modules was made at weekly intervals for four weeks into 70 mm pots.
At transplanting stage, increasing nitrogen gave the larger plants whilst potash had little effect.
The nutritional treatments had little effect on the finished plants, decreased time spent in the final container and also plant size.
