Abstract
Rhododendron maximum and Rh. smirnowii, according to the opinion of specialists, do not propagate easily from stem cuttings.
In the first experiments synthetically described in this paper, the percentage of rooted cuttings was also small.
The successive trials lead to the increase of root yield reaching 70–80 %, and in case of cuttings obtained from young seedlings the rooting was 93%. Also the cuttings of Rh. smirnowii cut from young plants rooted in the majority of treatments in 100 %.
