Abstract
Simulated shipping conditions which enhance the senescence of pelargonium cuttings also inhibit root formation.
Foliar senescence in the cuttings can be delayed by application of GA3 or STS to the leaves.
The inhibitory effect on rooting exerted by the senescence – retarding growth regulators, can be counteracted by prior treatment of cuttings with IBA or PP-333. ACC also stimulated root formation.
