Abstract
Allozyme variation in 10 enzymatic systems was studied using starch gel electrophoresis for 11 Italian populations of Juglans regia L. Five loci out of sixteen (DIA-A, DIA-C, EST-B, PGM-A and MPI-A) are polymorphic.
The genetic diversity parameters (average number of alleles per locus, percentage of polymorphic loci, effective number of alleles per locus and mean heterozigosity) are not significantly different among populations.
The genetic distance values increase with geographic distance.
The UPGMA dendrogram depicts a geographic pattern of genetic variation.
