Abstract
X.c. pv. juglandis resistant strains were isolated from orchard located in south west and south east areas, the two main zones of cultivation of walnut trees in France.
It was demonstrated that resistance to copper in Xanthomonas campestris pv. juglandis was associated with the presence of conjugative plasmids.
The existence of copper resistance strains could provide an explanation for the incomplete control of walnut blight by copper sprays.
