Abstract
Vegetative bud phases have been evaluated for three growing seasons on 18 English Walnut cultivars native from France, Germany and U.S.A. collected in an experimental orchard in Calabria (38 40′ Lat N).
"Serr", "Sunland", "Ashley" and "Chico" showed an earlier bud burst and leafing time whereas "Meylannaise", "Franquette", "Vina" and "Pedro" were the latest leafing varieties.
Data regarding the accumulation of chilling hours and chill units as well as growing degree hours are given.
