Abstract
Fifteen walnut cultivars were tested by electrophoretic analysis by malate dehydrogenase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase and aspartate aminotransferase.
Differences in number of electrophoretic bands were found.
There were two zones of enzyme activity observed for 6-PGD. These were designated at 6-PGD-1, polimorfic and 6-PGD-2, monomorfic.
One cultivar had only one activity level, denoted as 6-PGD-1. Three different phenotypic groups were found for MDH: with seven, eight and nine electrophoretic bands.
