Abstract
The content of total phenols in the scions of walnut wasn’t more than in apple, which might not be the main reason that the survival percentage of walnut was lower than that of other fruit trees.
Further more, it was correlative with the survival percentages of 3 kinds of varieties tested, and had the same tendency as the scion contents of starch, soluble sugar and C/N. Among the phenols, that some blocking the uniting process of walnut grafting present (such as juglone, cumarin acid and so on) and some stimulating absent (such as ferulaic acid) might be the main reason affecting the survival of grafting.
