Abstract
The region of Galicia, located in the extreme northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, is the region where the ‘Agudelo’ cultivar has traditionally received the most attention. ‘Agudelo’, among others, is one of the cultivar that had survived in Betanzos after the phylloxera crisis.
Since 1986, the location and study of the existing plant material in the area has been developed (prospecting, interviews, ampelographic, agronomic, oenological studies, molecular analysis). The identity of these materials of ‘Agudelo’ is confirmed, as a synonym of Chenin blanc.
