Abstract
One should not look for a fantastical “organoleptic typicity” in Chenin wines.
Chenin is a grape variety that passes through terroirs, its terroirs are very diverse, as is its expression; and this diversity must be combined with the neurosensory and cultural diversity of consumers.
For winegrowers, the challenge for Chenin in a changing environment is its ability to keep this particular characteristic of “passeur de terroirs”.
